MC3 MENHIRS
See what awaits you on the bike ... The local region is full of rocks. Some are said to have healing powers.
The local landscape is full of stones. Some of them are alleged to have healing powers. Stones which emanate energy are known as actilites. One kilometre from Beneš’ Cross at Veletín is an actilite. The others are outside the route, but you may well find them!
Chairlift from M2... Alenina Lhota then right to Starcova Lhota. There’s a drop here - don’t cycle too fast into the village because it’s very narrow! Continue towards Nadějkov, passing the ponds. Before reaching Nadějkov, turn right to Kaliště, and pedal hard uphill! The slog will end at Chlístov at the crossroads by Beneš’s Cross. Here you can take a trip 1 km towards Veletín, where the menhir is located between trees. Otherwise, turn right at the cross to Sedlec-Prčice, and we’re almost at our destination. After checking out the menhirs, head for the Na Krošíčku game-keepers house (there are stones here too), turning right before it into the wood, and up to Javorová skála… Before reaching the peak, take the path left for a view.
Your destination is a collection of Chlístov menhirs. The turning to reach them is on your right after the road bridge (after passing the turns from Chlístov). You’ll need to push your bike, the path is rutted. 100 m from the road, turn left and 200 m further another left and we’re a few steps from the menhirs.
