MC2 Ponds and reebeds

Along the cycle route (MC) 2 there are several historical buildings, which today serve as youth homes, etc.

There is a large number of historic buildings along route 2 which are today used as youth centres etc. The final building is „Little Hluboká“, a romantic castle in Jetřichovice under Javorová skála. Following which there is just a couple of hundred metres to M2.

From the M2 chairlift... to Alenina Lhota to the left via Ostrý to Libenice with its pretty pond. Then on to Střezimíř, where the highest railway station on the Prague - Vienna line is located, 589 m above sea-level. Then it’s a slog up to Červený Újezd. As well as the St Matthew parish church, there is the „mysterious“ Vallila villa here. Your tired legs will appreciate the route down to Mitrovice, then it’s flat around Přestavlky castle to Vrchotice pond and reedbeds. Take a break in the fisher’s inn. While in Vrchotice, it’s worth viewing the early-Renaissance fort (the originally Gothic fort stood here at the end of the 13th century). Before arriving in Jetřichovice, we pass the unique Chapel of Our Lady of Sorrow.

The trip’s goal is the pond in Vrchotice with its imposing reedbeds. Once we’ve taken in the beautiful scenery, we head along the road to Vrchotice and before it through the wood on the right and we visit the fisher’s inn. Here you can go fishing! In autumn there is a fishing day with grilled fish.
