MC1 Chairlift to the bisons

Route 1 will enchant you with its rural atmosphere. The cottages in the three villages you’ll pass through are in the South Bohemia Region, despite your start at M2 being in the Central Bohemia Region. The horses you’ll meet are from the Diagonála Ypsilon farm in Cunkov.

We’ve got a nice little trip ahead of us. What’s 7 km? And if the kids get sore legs, the adults can take a beer in the U bizona pub, or at the golf club in Alenina Lhota. So chairlift from M2 then through the enchanting Ounuz (the film Honza málem králem was filmed here) to Cunkov. We’ll see horses grazing on the route. Past Cunkov is our destination – the bisons. Then through Alenina Lhota to the crossroads to Javoří. If the kids are okay, turn off to Javoří (1 km). Otherwise, go back along the same route. The rock formation of Čertovo břemeno is between Cunkov and Ounuz. There are a number of rather tall tales told about it - they’re on the sign, so check it out.

The bisons here have horns so they can gore the devil from Čertovo břemeno (Devil’s burden). Should he be so bold… Bisons come from America and they have a large field here. They belong to the local farm, which is famed for its bulls. Bulls from all over Bohemia are auctioned here every year. And there’s also the pub, U bizona.
