The Old Post Office from Sněžka
Monínec is located in the beautiful region of Toulava, which stretches along the border between Central and South Bohemia and lies in the middle of the route between Prague and Šumava. It stretches from Sedlčany to Bechyně, from Mladá Vožice to Milevsko and across the broad area around the town of Tábor. It lies proudly among the green peaks alternating with river valleys and sloping down to the marshy wetlands, between small towns and picturesque villages.

The Old Post Office from Sněžka
The Post Office is the closest, because it is located at the top of the ski run on Monínec. You will find it right next to the exit from the chairlift.
The oldest Czech post office – a timbered chalet from the middle of the 19th century, was threatened with destruction several times. Its demolition was most recently prevented by Tomáš Trnka, who disassembled it beam-by-beam and nail-by-nail with his friends and transported it to Javorová skála. The Old Post Office has been preserved and is now home to an exhibition of its one hundred and fifty year old history.
How to get there?
Take the chair lift up the hill and you can’t miss it. It is located along the right-hand side (when looking downhill), at the top of the ski run on Monínec. You can also walk to it through the forest from Monínec Hotel.
